The treatment of tennis / golfer’s elbow
In the case of tennis or golfer’s elbow (also sometimes called ‘golf arm’), the problem is rooted in a muscular overloading where the muscle tendons attach to the elbow.
If you should suffer from tennis elbow or golf arm, then an immediate relief of the muscle and the tendon is required. Each further loading generates renewed irritation and this can lead to chronic problems.
It is advisable to have chiropractic treatment as soon as possible. This will ensure that there is optimum flexibility in the elbow joint and that there are no nerve disorders or blockages to hinder recovery.
Flexibility in the elbow and a nerve pathway to the muscles which is free of friction is very important for healing.
Tennis or golfer’s elbow does not have to be caused purely by playing tennis or golf. Overloading of the joint and its associated musculature can also be caused by other sports or activities such as through work or performing tasks in the home and garden. It is brought about by irritation where the tendons attach to the forearm muscle and which manifests itself as pain on the inside or outside of the elbow joint.
By definition tennis elbow (Epicondylitis radialis humeri) affects the outside of the elbow, while golfer’s elbow (Epicondylitis ulnaris humeri) affects the inside.
The body is predisposed to hearing itself to some degree following an injury. Chiropractic is an effective treatment method to optimise the conditions for the body’s own healing processes – without the use of medication, injections or operations.
In addition to chiropractic treatment, IHR-CHIROPRAKTOR will advise you on how an optimum recovery can fit in with your everyday life and how immediate relief for your muscles and tendons is possible.
